Beccy opened the discussion of possible upcoming events. She suggested an Art and Literary Fair. Kathy will contact Sue Tooley to gather more information about the local art groups. Suzie asked about doing an event with all the local authors attending, possibly doing a book reading, signing and/or sale. On the day of the Rodeo Parade, FOL could host something for children on the Library lawn, possibly coloring for the kids and serve lemonade and cookies.

Suzie reported the Friends of the Carnegie Public Library Capital Resources Funds committee has raised approximately $10,000 from the letters mailed out in November. All Thank You notes have been written and mailed. Kathy volunteered to help with Thank You notes. Suzie said part of this money could go to purchase the much needed new copier. However, the City and County should have funds for the copier. This will be verified before any monies are earmarked for the copier. Kathy suggested the possibility of setting up a scholarship fund for librarians. The scholarship(s) would be awarded to either third or fourth year college students.

Kathy would like to use some of the book bags for the Books on Wheels program. Bags not needed for this could be awarded as door prizes at upcoming events.
