Librarians Report as follows.

Public Comment:  None

Director’s Evaluation:  Committee provided evaluation of library director.  Board approved the evaluation which was signed by Kate Lewis and filed at City Hall.

Old Business

Kathy Agnew: Women’s Club will meet in the Fall and are willing to contribute to fixing up the small meeting room and are open to suggestions and requests.  The Board visited the room (old adult fiction room) which has been cleaned up for the GED Program.

Budget:  The Budget Committee met twice with the City Clerk, Gayle McPherson, to discuss the proposed budget.  Unresolved issues are coming expenditures which may or may not be included in the budget depending on the City Council such as a new copier, and the finish of the landscaping by Blake Nursery, and the installation of an  auto-door opener on the 4th Street door.

Warranty Work:  It was reported by Librarian Kate Lewis the Ace Electric from Laurel showed up to repair the short in the lighting system.  It was determined that a new dimmer switch was needed.  The part has been ordered an Ace electric will return for the installation.

4th Street Door:  Delores Hanson and Gene Barbieri looked over both estimates for the automatic door opener for one of the doors on the south side of the building.  The auto opener has been requested to enabled easier access into the building and to put greater pressure from the auto door opener so the wind will not cause the door to open and slam shut.  The two bids were from Nevin’s House of Glass and Guy’s Glass, both of Livingston.  Guy’s Glass does not want to do the work.  Nevin’s quoted  $1,920 per door.  Delores agreed to contact Lonnie McDermott requesting a quote for the electric work.

A motion was made by Kathy Agnew to accept the bid by Nevin’s House of Glass for the installation of the door opener with approval from the City.  Dick Stanton seconded the motion.  All approved.

Landscaping:  Upon investigation, it was determined that Conner Concrete stopped making splash guards so they will have to be purchased elsewhere.  Landscaping by Blake Nursery is on hold waiting for  Northwest Energy to identify the location of the underground lines and pipes.

Goodbyes: Dick Stanton announced that this was his last meeting.  Delores Hanson has reached the end of her term but will stay until July when  her position on the Board is filled.
