May 2, 2008 Regular Meeting
Big Timber Carnegie Library Community Room


President Kathy Jones called the meeting to order at noon. In attendance were Mary Lou Gasienica, Dale Garrett, Maggi Buttrell, Genieva Price, and Jacque Scott.

Annual Meeting Minutes have not been released.

Treasurer's Report:  Balance as of May 1, 2008 is $2,806.80, which includes  $730.87 deposited from book sales and membership dues, and checks paid out totaling $618.16.

Old Business:  Scholarships to Library Arts students will be an ongoing discussion.
Plastic sleeves for the magazines is working great.

New Business:  Rodeo Parade, June 27 - Depending on the weather, would like to have a coloring area set up outside for children. Jacque Scott will be in charge of recruiting high school students to help do face painting. Dale moved, Mary Lou seconded, FOL will pay for the face painting supplies. All ayes carried.

G. E. D. prep. classes will be held starting in June, date to be announced, in the old Fiction Room. Kate will supervise the cleaning and setting up of the room. Kathy will help and will need maybe one other person to help also.

Librarian's Requests:  Someone is needed to install the sound system and microphone for the Community Room. Mary Lou moved and Dale seconded to hire someone to do this, with a budget of $300. Ayes carried the motion.
Archival boxes are needed to store old editions of Big Timber newspapers. Jacque estimated needing 15 boxes. Dale moved, Mary Lou seconded to order the boxes with a budget up to $400. Ayes carried the motion.

Kathy adjourned the meeting at 12:35 p.m. The next meeting will be held September 5, 2008 in the Big Timber Carnegie Public Library Community Room.
